STudent-Driven Campus desgin:
Project REFLECTION:
Write a classy description of the project itself.
This project was a design thinking challenge with the task of designing the new school. We were given about a month and a half to tackle the challenge of working in groups and designing a new school. There was a whole campus design, a shared space design, and then writing a abstract. The final outcome were posters we presented to board members of the school.
Take-aways and Enduring Understandings.
All throughout this project I developed new skills, and knowledge. One of my biggest take aways was what I learned about the human-design process. The strategies, reflecting, and ideation processes were used through the duration of this project.
Group Work Reflection.
My introvert self was pushed into a group of four people, I usually wouldn't talk to outside of class. My social skills itself could have been presented a little bit more with confidence and understanding of the project. In the beginning of the project I had no clue on what was going on and what to expect. My group didn’t have my full attention in the beginning causing me to not contribute to the work and take on a task that had a iffy outcome. At the end of this project I have gained more confidence and a better strategy that flows with group work assignments.
Relevance and Personal Growth
I'm pretty sure students and teachers are a main user of schools in the world, so I would say it's pretty important for the their voices to be heard during this process. I feel that should be the main case in most building. Always hear out what the users would like to see and the enjoyment, meaning, and process will be a happy process. That can also lead to better quality in the building, atmosphere, and users satisfaction.
