Project Reflection:What did you do for your passion project and why?
What I did for my passion project was portrait photography. I originally was going to make three themeded book portfolios. After conducting many photoshoots over the duration of the week. I soon realized in the three days I had to print the books, I did not have the correct resources and help to create the books. I switched my final product to a website, and instagram. It took me awhile to find the right and beautiful layout, which after I did I added a portfolio with just some of the photos I took, I added a bio and an about page, which I hope soon I can transform my website into a site where I can sell and receive commissions from public viewers. What part of this project are most proud of and why? The part of the project I am most proud of is my Sunshine Smiles shoot and Wild and Prime shoot. Sunshine Smiles is my first ever outside portrait photoshoot which I was able to try to learn lighting and camera settings to clash with the natural sunlight. The Wild and Prime shoot was fantastic, I love how most of the photos came out and the models were amazing to work with. Going into this project I was not confident enough to go around asking people to be models. Which the first shoot I did was tough because I got a model I wouldn't usually interact with on any other day. But throughout all the shoots I had done I began to gain confidence with working with new people. Which I feel is why the two shoots I’m most proud of is because of the confidence I had during them. If you could do this project over again, what would you do differently and why? If I could do this project over again I would like to make more professional photoshoots. Before I went into this project I had a lot of poses, and people planned for the themes I had chose, but when it got to the time where I had to take the photos, I lost all my creativity, and ideas. I realied way to much on pinterest and instagram to find poses which I feel isn’t that professional. I am not being to hard on myself since this is my first semi professional photoshoot I have done with models other than one of my friends. One more thing I would do differently would be actually making sure I had enough time and resources to print book portfolios. I thought that would be a beautiful way to showcase my shoots. |
